Circa is a hybrid of research laboratory and curator of exhibitions and events.

Circa was founded in 2015 by Isabelle Pellegrini, curator and artistic director, to develop artistic projects outside the usual field of exhibition.

Circa’s activities take place mainly at the Villa Henry in Nice, a private, intimate and atypical venue, hosting contemporary art exhibitions, artists’ micro-residencies, collaborations and multidisciplinary encounters around art, or dinners in contemporary art installations.

Circa also carries out its projects outside the walls according to meetings and invitations.

In 2019, she launched a biennial contemporary art exhibition that questions our relationship to the elements called ELEMENTA, the second edition of which will take place in the spring of 2021.

Circa also develops other projects such as the pop-up exhibition 100TITRES questioning anonymity in contemporary art -the first two editions of which were made with Mixed Materials-, VISITESLOW, which suspend time during an art tour and produces EDITIONS according to the projects.

Circa’s think tank also opens up the field for research around a multidisciplinary curatorship and the art-science link.
